The school dress code was established following consultations with parents and pupils and therefore receives support from all involved in our uniform’s purchase, wear and care. In school we positively encourage pupils to wear the uniform so that they are appropriately and safely dressed for a wide range of activities; that they share in the common aims and values of our school; and that they have a sense of belonging. Uniform is available from Match Fit Kit in Weddington Road.
Grey standard school trousers, skirts, pinafores or culottes.
Either: Plain white formal school shirt or blouse worn with a school tie and a green V neck jumper or cardigan with school crest.
Or: White polo shirt with green school sweatshirt with school crest.
Girls may wear summer dresses when warm in green and white gingham, check or stripe.
Dark socks for boys: white or grey socks or knitted tights for girls in green, grey or white. Plain sensible flat waterproof footwear.
Craft Kit Parents are asked to provide children with some kind of apron or “coverall”. An old shirt or blouse worn back to front is effective.
P.E. and Games Kit

Indoor PE - Black Shorts / Plain White T Shirt/or ‘house’ colour tee shirt. Children are allocated a house once they have started school.
Indoor PE is taken in bare feet unless there is evidence of verrucca infection.
Outdoor Games - Reception class outdoor activities, jogging bottoms black if possible, PE shoes/pumps with elasticated fronts, black shorts and a white shirt
Key Stage 2
Indoor PE - Black Shorts / Plain White T shirt / bare feet. Girls may wear a black leotard
Outdoor Games - PE shoes/pumps trainers or football boots as appropriate, black shorts or black games skirt, plain white T-shirt
Swimming - Appropriate swimwear will be required by Year 3 pupils for lessons taken at The Pingles Leisure Centre
NOTE Parents must ensure that the appropriate kit is provided for PE Games and swimming lessons. If it is forgotten in exceptional circumstances parents will be telephoned and requested to bring it for the lesson. If parents cannot be contacted, children will be proved with kit from school, which they will be required to take home, wash and return. If for medical reasons a child needs to miss PE, games or Swimming, a letter is required from parents. Any medical requirements needed by the school in order for the child to be included in a lesson must be given prior to the lesson.
It is essential that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with the child’s name and brought to school in an appropriate bag. This can remain at school for the week on the child’s peg. Pupils should take home all kit at half term to check and rename as necessary. Kit should be brought in a small bag as cloakroom space is limited.
Jewellery and Watches
For safety reasons we discourage children from wearing any kind of jewellery. Children with pierced ears may only wear plain studs. On swimming and PE days all jewellery should be removed before coming to school. The wearing of make-up and nail varnish is not permitted. Watches may be worn by Key Stage 2 pupils.
The school does not permit children to have haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children. Children with shoulder length hair should wear their hair up and off their face, using appropriate accessories in school colours. Children should not have tram lines, patterned haircuts, hair dyed different colours and should not have their heads shaved bald.
