Remote Learning
St Nicolas continues to provide an ambitious and broad curriculum in all subjects. We have extensive plans for the provision of remote education to ensure that the children that need to be educated at home, for example, due to shielding or self-isolation, are given the support they need to continue learning. Our remote education is of a high quality and aligns as closely as possible with in-school provision.
Home Learning
Work is set on Seesaw. Instructions/videos from the class teacher are included and the work will be marked so that feedback can be given. Your child will have an individual log in to access this and you can download the family app or use the website. If you are unable to access Seesaw, please contact the office for further support. Where individual children are isolating, your child will have access to the same curriculum as they would if they were in school. It is an expectation that all children complete the set home learning whilst isolating, to ensure minimal disruption to their education.
We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. We take the following approaches to support those pupils to access remote education:
*Loan of a kindle/ipad
*Printed home learning packs
We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils.
